Rancho Bernardo — RB — was one of San Diego’s first master-planned communities, built out from the 1960s through the 1980s across the rolling hills of the inland north county. The result is a community of established, well-built homes: single-story ranch houses, two-story family homes, and whole neighborhoods designed for active-adult living. The bones are excellent; what most RB homes need is modernization — dated kitchens and baths, tired layouts, and finishes that belong to the decade the house was built.
We update Rancho Bernardo homes to match how people live now: open, modern kitchens; spa-style bathrooms; reconfigured floor plans; and outdoor kitchens and covered patios built for RB’s warm inland summers. For the community’s many active-adult households, we also design single-level, aging-in-place remodels — curbless showers, wider doorways, and step-free living — that feel elevated, never institutional. We handle HOA design review and City of San Diego permitting throughout.
